A Centerton, Arkansas, man was arrested over the weekend in Independence County after speeding on the motorcycle he was driving.
The police report said Roy Barnhill, 33, was first clocked going 60 mph in a 45-mph zone on his Harley-Davidson. Later, authorities say he was clocked at speeds over 100 mph on Highway 25.
Police say Barnhill was passing other vehicles at high rates of speeds, and when attempting to turn at Shamrock Lane and Highway 25, he wrecked his motorcycle.
At that time, Independence County Sheriff’s Deputy Jerrod Smith began to chase Barnhill on foot and into the woods, where Smith said he lost sight of Barnhill.
Authorities say Barnhill turned himself and was arrested on July 29. He was charged with ten misdemeanor traffic violations, including speeding, fleeing, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving left of center, disregarding a stop or yield sign, reckless driving, failure to signal, improper passing, fictitious tags, and driving on a suspended driver’s license.
