Redmond’s annual Children’s Fish Fair is slated Saturday, May 18, from sun-up to 2:30 pm at Fireman’s Pond, 1100 SW Lake Ct.

Nearly 300 children from ages 1 through 13 plus their guardians are expected to surround the pond and try their hand at fishing.  This is a community wide free event featuring free bait supplies and loaner poles for angers without their own equipment.

Several contests and multiple drawings will be feted during the event for various prizes such as fishing tackle, bikes, gift certificates and more.

Free coffee and hot chocolate will be provided in the morning. Redmond Kiwanians will grill a free hot dog lunch for everyone attending. The pond will be stocked with a several thousand fish to increase young fishers’ odds.

“We appreciate Redmond Fire and Rescue, Redmond Kiwanis, Quality Heating, American Family-Jose Gonzales, Redmond Police Department, and City of Redmond Parks Department for keeping this event rolling each and every year,” said event organizer David Hocker.
