Fellowship Bible Church at the Landers will present “A Concert for Caden,” a benefit event to support local high school student Caden Hillis (pictured), on Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free, and donations will be accepted.
Organizers say the concert aims to raise funds for a service dog for Hillis, a Batesville High School student living with 1p36 deletion syndrome—a rare genetic disorder that has led to multiple medical challenges, including epilepsy, a congenital heart defect, a weakened immune system, and visual impairment. Hillis is non-verbal and uses a wheelchair, relying on his family for daily care.
Proceeds from the event will go toward securing a service dog trained to assist with medical alerts, retrieving items, and providing companionship, as well as with emotional and social support.
Entertainment will include local artists Ashleigh Rogers and Danny Dozier, along with performances by the bands Anchor, Maggie and Friends, and Low Level Echoes. Praise bands from several area churches—Believers, Generations, Southside Assembly of God, and New Hope—will also perform.
In addition to the live music, the event will feature a silent auction and food trucks. Fellowship Bible Church at the Landers is located at 332 E. Main St. in Batesville.
