Batesville site providing survivor assistance to close July 9

A local center providing in-person assistance to Independence County residents affected by the March and April storms and tornadoes will close permanently on Wednesday, July 9, at 6 p.m.

The site, located at the Independence County Library, has been a key resource for homeowners and renters seeking support from the state of Arkansas, FEMA, and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The Batesville assistance site, on the third floor of the Independence County Library at 267 E. Main St., has operated from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Its final operational period is from July 2 to July 9, with no hours scheduled for Friday, July 4.
