The Batesville Area Arts Council (BAAC) is set to host the ninth annual Artoberfest, an arts and music festival on Main Street, Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The festival will feature artist booths, art demonstrations, and live music by Ed Casper, Pete Roulier & Sydney Franks, and Ashleigh Rogers, along with other family-friendly activities.

The BACC’s Carly Dahl and Sara Harmon recently stopped by White River Now’s Arkansas 103.3 KWOZ to visit with Chad Whiteaker about Saturday’s fun. Listen below:

Artoberfest will also feature a Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest for students in kindergarten through sixth grade, as well as a separate division for junior high through college students. This competition aims to engage students, teachers, families, and community groups by creating temporary public art.

K-6th-grade students will compete from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and junior high and college students will compete from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to the top designs in each age group. All contestants must register to compete. Full details and the free registration form can be found at batesvilleareaartscouncil.org/artoberfest.

This one-day festival is free for the community to enjoy, made possible by the generous support of sponsors. This year’s festival is proudly presented by Citizens Bank and sponsored by Bad Boy Mowers, Lyon College, Bank of Cave City, First Community Bank, Fuller Bumpers Attorney at Law, and FARCO.
