Arkansans can now add their state-issued digital identification to Samsung and Google Wallets, expanding access to the Arkansas Mobile ID that launched earlier this year.
The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration announced Monday that the Mobile ID is now compatible with Samsung Wallet on Galaxy smartphones, joining the recently added Google Wallet option. The digital ID serves as a secure, contactless version of a driver’s license or state ID that can be used at participating businesses and Transportation Security Administration checkpoints nationwide.
More than 40,000 Arkansans have downloaded the Mobile ID since its launch in March. The department anticipates the feature will become available in the Apple Wallet in 2026.
The Arkansas Mobile ID is free to residents with a valid driver’s license or state ID and can be set up in less than five minutes through the “Arkansas Mobile ID” app.
