A lineup of hometown talent headlined the Ozarka College Foundation’s annual Fall Concert and Dinner on Oct. 7 at the college’s Mountain View campus, drawing about 90 guests for an evening of music, food, and community giving.
Performers included Brad Apple, Tim Crouch, Danny Dozier, Ken Loggains, Sam Cobb, Gary Rounds, and Pam Setser — a group of local musicians whose two-hour set featured fiddle, guitar, bass, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, percussion, spoons, and rich vocals.
Before the show, attendees enjoyed a barbecue dinner prepared by Samich’s Rolling Grill, owned by Ozarka alumnus Kyle Bruton.
The fundraiser, which supports Ozarka College students, was backed by numerous local sponsors, including presenting sponsors Lee Ann Thomas of Re/Max Edge Realty, Tim Wilson of Stone County Farm Bureau, First National Bank of Izard County, the Mathew Gray Dellinger Circuit Judge campaign, and White River Health. Corporate sponsors included several area businesses, banks, and organizations.
Raffle prizes donated by local artists and businesses ranged from cabin stays and fishing trips to handcrafted furniture and autographed memorabilia.
“Our community support continually makes this event the great success it is today,” said Kim Lovelace, Mountain View campus director. “We look forward to next year’s event with excitement as the community continues to support our students through these important and fun-filled events.”
