Lyon College will host its annual “Furry Frenzy Toy Toss” during the men’s basketball game against East Texas Baptist University on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Becknell Gymnasium on the Lyon College campus at 2300 Highland Road.

Admission is free for anyone who brings a new stuffed animal. Fans will toss their toys onto the court after the Scots score their first point. All donations will go to the Rotary Club of Batesville’s Angel Tree program, which provides gifts for local children during the holiday season.

This year’s event also features a campus-wide competition among Lyon’s athletic teams and Greek Life organizations to see which group can collect the most stuffed animals.

“This is one of our favorite service traditions at Lyon because it brings so much joy to the campus and to the children who receive the toys,” said Kortney Cunningham, adviser for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. “The moment when the court is filled with stuffed animals is always meaningful. It’s a celebration of generosity, teamwork, and the true spirit of the season.”

The event is open to all students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members.
