Darryl Sullivan has filed as a Republican candidate for Stone County judge in the March 3, 2026, primary, saying he hopes to bring “strong leadership, fairness and accountability” to county government.
“I’m running for county judge because I believe in the people of Stone County and the power of working together to make our communities stronger,” Sullivan said. “Our county deserves a judge who listens, leads with integrity and makes decisions that put people first.”
Sullivan, a 1990 graduate of Mountain View High School, has lived in Stone County since age 3. He and his wife, Lisa, have been married 27 years. They have two children, Mathas Badgley and Ryan Sullivan, and three grandchildren. He is an active member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he teaches adult Sunday school.
Sullivan cites 10 years of law enforcement experience, 15 years in banking and more than 30 years of community involvement. He is past president and current vice president of Stone County Farm Bureau and was elected in 2024 to the Arkansas Farm Bureau AGPAC board of directors. He also serves on the organization’s State Resolutions Committee and the State Government and Local Affairs Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Stone/Izard County FSA Committee.
Sullivan served more than 20 years with the Stone County Youth Activities Association, including 15 years as president. During his tenure, two new baseball and softball fields were built, and the association hosted two Little League Baseball state tournaments. He volunteered as a youth baseball and football coach for 26 years, including coaching Mountain View’s 2009 baseball state championship team.
If elected, Sullivan said he will focus on improving county roads, ensuring responsible spending, supporting economic development, providing training opportunities and protecting rural values.
“This campaign is about teamwork with other local offices and the residents of Stone County to build a local government that works for everyone,” he said. “Together, we can ensure Stone County is a great place to live, work and raise a family. I look forward to meeting with as many people as possible over the next few months and respectfully ask for your vote on March 3, 2026.”
