The Batesville Fire Department announces West Ross Street (off North Central Avenue) is closed from Central to Baker Street due to a major gas leak.
SDT was boring under the road for AT&T and apparently hit a gas line, according to Fire Chief Mark McCollum.
Fire, police, ARDOT and Summit Utilities crews are all on the scene, but McCollum hopes to have the scene cleared by 5 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 17).
