Hardy ministry says financial strain threatens building after month of community outreach

A Hardy-based ministry that spent the past month helping families in crisis now says it is facing its own emergency as it works to keep its building open.

Broken to Blessed, located at 3861 Highway 62-412, announced this week that it is in urgent need of financial donations to maintain its facility. Leaders said the building has served as a safe space for people in need — including families affected by fires, foster youth, veterans, and others seeking support — but that continued outreach has strained the ministry’s finances.

According to the organization, losing the building would mean losing a place where people often gather to “cry, heal, laugh, pray, and find dignity again.” Donations to the building fund can be made through First Community Bank in Cherokee Village, and the charity said receipts will be provided to anyone who donates directly to its building owner.

Broken to Blessed also announced it will be closed through Dec. 3 for the Thanksgiving holiday, allowing staff and volunteers time with their families.

The ministry emphasized that its work has never been about money but about providing hope and second chances, and thanked community members who have offered support through donations, prayers and volunteer help.
