A routine traffic stop in Stone County led to the arrest of a Timbo woman after deputies reported finding more than 60 grams of crystal methamphetamine in her vehicle.
According to Stone County Sheriff Brandon Long, Deputy Travis Shepherd stopped a 2005 Nissan Altima on Nov. 30 for a traffic violation. Shepherd said the driver, 29-year-old Reba Kay Wilkey, appeared unusually nervous and showed signs of possible criminal activity. A search of the vehicle followed.
Deputies reported finding about 62 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia, with an estimated street value of $3,000. Wilkey was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Stone County Detention Center.
Wilkey is charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, a Class A felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony; and several misdemeanor offenses, including having an open container of alcohol, operating an unsafe vehicle, and having no taillights.
She remains in jail awaiting bond. Sheriff Long said additional charges may be filed after review by the prosecutor’s office.
