A rural health care advocate is putting down roots, as Dr. Jessica Snelgrove joins WRH Family Care as its newest family medicine physician.
White River Health announced this week that Dr. Jessica Snelgrove has joined WRH Family Care in Southside as a family medicine physician. She will begin seeing patients in August.
Snelgrove joins a team that includes Jennifer Blaney, APRN; James Bridgeman, APRN; Alisha Hightower, APRN; and Micah Moody, DNP, APRN, FNP-C.
As a family medicine physician, Snelgrove will provide comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages. Her focus includes preventive care and wellness, along with diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, fibromyalgia, heart disease and hypertension. She also treats mental health conditions including ADHD, anxiety and depression, and offers annual wellness exams, chronic disease management, health screenings, immunizations and routine medical care.
Snelgrove earned her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Ouachita Baptist University and a master’s degree in public health from UAMS. She completed her family medicine residency at UAMS North Central in Batesville. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians.
“I am passionate about serving patients in rural communities where quality access to health care is essential,” Snelgrove said. “I am excited to join the WRH family and look forward to building relationships with patients to help individuals and families achieve their health goals close to home.”
Snelgrove and her husband, Dusty, live in Batesville with their two cats, Tonks and Loki, and their three dogs, Max, Maple and Georgie. The couple is expecting their first child.
Outside of work, Snelgrove enjoys traveling, playing games and taking walks. She has also made it a goal to visit every U.S. National Park.
