Two members of the Arkansas Razorbacks men’s basketball team are scheduled to appear at Southside Schools’ Stewart Field to close out the school district’s observation of Mental Health Awareness Spirit Week (April 17 through April 21).

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. this Friday, the event, entitled “Meet You at the Big Top,” will also include a “Carnival of Fun,” where attendees can enjoy booths, games, and food, as well as the Southside Mental Health Awareness 5K Color Run.

And Razorbacks Rupi Kaur and Joseph Pinion will be singing autographs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A group of students from the Southside Charter High School Mental Health Awareness Club visited with Arkansas 103.3 KWOZ’s Wes Gwaltney on a recent edition of his “Slightly Scrambled” morning show about this weekend’s “Meet You at the Big Top.”

Listen to their conversation below.

Proceeds from last year’s event went to pay for, Jaxie, the Southside campus’ therapy dog. This year, proceeds will go toward different programs and speakers to raise awareness about mental health.
