Country comes to Batesville Levitt Amp Concert Series on Thursday

Country artist Mark Taylor will be the third headliner of the Batesville Levitt Amp Concert Series Thursday at Riverside Park.

According to his website, Taylor “…draws inspiration from the greats including The Allman Brothers Band, the Eagles, Jake Owen, Mitchel Tenpenny, and Thomas Rhett. While playing over a thousand shows so far, the thrill of getting on stage never gets old for him. He thrives for the moments when he connects with the fans. ‘My job is to make someone’s day a little better. People come to escape their own lives and problems temporarily and listen to music. As a performer, it’s my job to do my best and to ensure that the crowd is loving the show.’”

Taylor has recently performed in venues such as The Bluebird Cafe, CMA Fest, and Music City Center promoting his latest single, “Dust Off That Dirt.” (Scroll down to listen to the song.)

Local band “Minimum Commitment,” featuring Trevor Graddy, Luke Middleton, Mark Reeves, and John Parks, will open the show.

Food vendors and entertainment for kids will also be part of the fun. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. when the park will open to the public.

Others scheduled to perform in the series include artists such as Roy Saunders, Miles Over Mountains, Victor Wainwright and the Train, Marcella and her Lovers, Latin Grammy artist Gina Chavez, The Band Trippp, and Melody Angel.

Last November, Batesville was named one of 33 small to mid-sized towns and cities across America to receive a Levitt AMP Batesville Grant Award of $90,000 in matching funds to present a free concert series at Riverside Park through 2025. Main Street Batesville submitted the Levitt AMP proposal and is presenting the concert series.
