The Independence County Library has announced the successful completion of its naming rights campaign, securing donor support for all of its various spaces.

The campaign concluded with a $50,000 commitment from Willa Harkey towards the library’s Young Adult Lounge.

With Harkey’s contribution, every library area is now named after esteemed supporters and philanthropists.

According to a media library release, the Teen Lounge “will not only serve as a haven for young adult readers but also as a hub for educational and social activities, fostering a sense of community and curiosity among the county’s adolescents.”

The release noted that the total contributions for the library project reached an impressive sum of $585,000.

“This substantial amount reflects the collective commitment of individuals and businesses alike who recognize the importance of a well-equipped and accessible library in enriching the lives of residents,” the library said.

Notable donors acknowledged by the Independence County Library include Atlas Asphalt, White River Materials, Bad Boy Mowers, Inc., Judge Bill and Janis M. Walmsley, Judge Tim and Cindy Weaver, First Community Bank, FutureFuel Chemical Company, Lacroix Precision Optics, Lance and Kimberly Lamberth, Mark and Dianne Lamberth, Merchants and Planters Bank, Mike and Bobbie Low, Midwest Lime Company, Inc., Ray and Diane Lacroix, Steve and Ellen Massey, Willa Harkey, and Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects.
