The recent discovery of two bodies in an Independence County residence is now a homicide investigation, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division began investigating the case after the Independence County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance.
Deputies responded April 15 to a welfare check at a home in the 1600 block of Old Camp Road, where they found the bodies of Teresa Owens Nelson, 53, and Patricia Anderson, 71, inside the residence, state police said.
The victims’ bodies were transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsies.
State police did not release further details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
