The White River Health (WRH) board of directors has appointed Steven Webb (pictured) as the new president and CEO, effective immediately.
Webb, a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, has previously served as the chief operating officer of WRH since July 2024.
The appointment follows a committee-based search conducted after Dr. Chris Steel served as interim president and CEO. The board formed a search committee for the leadership transition and selected Webb at an April 29 meeting. Steel will assist leadership during the transition.
“We are grateful for Dr. Steel’s service and leadership as interim president and CEO. We appreciate his willingness to step in and lead WRH, and we are thankful for his dedication to the organization,” said Randy Cross, chairman of the WRH board of directors. “We look forward to Mr. Webb’s leadership and ability to advance WRH into the future.”
Webb holds a bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University and a master’s in health service administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
White River Health is an independent, nonprofit healthcare system serving North Central Arkansas. Its facilities include White River Medical Center in Batesville, Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View, outpatient centers, and physician practices.
