The emergency lane on Ramsey Mountain in Batesville was used for the first time today after a heavy haul vehicle stalled on a curve at the base of the mountain.
According to Independence County Judge Kevin Jeffery, a local wrecker company was called in and had to slowly winch the stalled vehicle up the incline to ensure public safety during the operation.
Law enforcement responded to the call at approximately 12:05 p.m., and the situation was fully resolved with the all-clear given at 3:51 p.m.
There were no injuries reported, and the use of the emergency lane helped minimize disruption to traffic during the hours-long recovery effort.
