Shepherd’s House Extends Protein Powder Drive

Shepherd’s House Ministries is extending its urgent Protein Power Drive appeal through the upcoming weekend, as donations have been moderate since announcing the initiative late last week. The drive is a critical response to a 17% mandatory federal reduction in food support, leaving freezers at both the Bend and Redmond locations nearly empty.

Shepherd’s House Ministries serves more than 400 people daily—adding up to nearly 1,000 meals every single day across Central Oregon. Since launching the Protein Power Drive, the organization has received a great deal of local support, but there is still not enough protein stocked in the freezers at either the Bend or Redmond facilities.

The community is strongly encouraged to donate the following protein-rich items:

  • Chicken, beef, pork, and other meats
  • Eggs

“We truly appreciate the generosity we’ve seen, but the ongoing slow response underscores how crucial this drive is,” stated Curt Floski, Executive Director at Shepherd’s House Ministries. “We urgently need additional donations to ensure nutritious meals can continue for the individuals and families who rely heavily on our support.”

Donations can be dropped off at:

  • Bend: 1854 NE Division Street, OR 97701
  • Redmond: 1350 S Hwy 97, 97756

Financial donations can also be made online at shministries.org.

Your immediate assistance will make a tangible difference in fighting hunger in our community.
