A three-vehicle crash in Sharp County last week killed two people and injured a child, according to Arkansas State Police.
The crash occurred at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, June 5, on State Highway 56. Police said Chance F. Huihui, 36, of Horseshoe Bend, was driving westbound in a 2021 Kia when he left the road while navigating a left curve. According to the fatality report, the Kia then overcorrected, causing it to cross the centerline and strike the rear driver’s side of an eastbound 2009 Chevrolet. The Kia continued and hit a third vehicle head-on.
Huihui died from his injuries, along with the driver of the third vehicle, Tammy M. Johnson, 59, of Sage.
A 7-year-old passenger in Johnson’s vehicle was injured and taken to White River Medical Center.
Police said weather conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.
