The Southside School District has announced the appointment of Mandy Blevins as the new assistant principal of Southside Middle School, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in education to the role, a release from the district said.
Blevins previously served in the Southside district for 14 years and said the new position feels like a homecoming.
“Returning to the Southside School District truly feels like coming home,” Blevins said in a news release. “I was fortunate to spend 14 years here growing as an educator and learning from some of the very best. I’m grateful for the opportunity to once again be part of such a dedicated and inspiring team.”
Throughout her 19-year career, Blevins has focused on aligning curriculum with Arkansas state standards, building strong instructional systems and managing federal grant projects aimed at improving schools.
Southside Middle School Principal Brad McGhee said Blevins’ experience and focus on student and teacher support will be an asset to the school.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Blevins back to Southside,” McGhee said. “Her commitment to student success and teacher support makes her a valuable asset to our school.”
Outside the classroom, Blevins and her husband of 26 years, Josh, have two adult daughters, Shyanna and Taylor, and four grandchildren. The family enjoys spending time outdoors, including floating the river and soaking up the sunshine.
