Three restaurants from Batesville and Cave City were selected as semifinalists in the People’s Choice category of the 2025 Arkansas Food Hall of Fame.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced June 26 in Little Rock as part of an initiative by the Division of Arkansas Heritage.

Jesse James Foods and Meme’s Burgery, both of Batesville, and The Gypsy Willow Scratch Kitchen & Oyster Bar in Cave City were among 12 statewide semifinalists chosen through a public nomination process.

“Every year, we’re amazed by the passion and pride residents bring to the nomination process. These finalists are more than just names – they’re stories, memories, and celebrations of the places that bring us together over a great meal,” said Marty Ryall, director of the Division of Arkansas Heritage

The People’s Choice category allows Arkansas residents to vote for their favorite local restaurants. The top three vote-getters will be named winners later this year. Voting is open at ArkFoodHOF.com.

Other semifinalists include Oxley Store & Diner in Oxley and Salty Dalty’s BBQ Food Truck in Morrilton.

The Arkansas Food Hall of Fame began in 2016 to recognize culinary excellence in five categories: Gone But Not Forgotten, Food-Themed Event, Proprietor of the Year, Arkansas Food Hall of Fame, and People’s Choice.

“Earning a place in the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame is one of the highest honors in our state’s culinary scene. It’s a testament to the dedication, creativity and heart that these chefs and restaurants pour into every dish,” said Shea Lewis, secretary for the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism.

Inductees will be honored at an event this fall.
