A Stone County man with a long history of felony arrests is facing 12 new charges following a high-speed chase in Baxter County earlier this month.
Authorities say 40-year-old Joshua James Langston was stopped in Gassville on Aug. 14 for a defective taillight when he admitted his driver’s license was suspended and gave false information. Police report he then fled, reaching speeds of 80 miles per hour in a 40-mile zone before crashing through a locked gate and abandoning his truck in a field. Langston was arrested the next day at the vehicle owner’s home.

Langston has a criminal record dating back to 2003 with arrests in multiple Arkansas (including Independence) and Missouri counties, including convictions for meth possession, theft, forgery, and prior fleeing incidents. He has served two prison sentences in Arkansas and remains a parole absconder.
His new charges include two felonies for fleeing and creating substantial danger. Bond is set at just over $17,000.
