The new roundabout at the intersection of Myers Street, 20th Street, and Pioneer Drive on Sept. 3, 2025.
Batesville will mark a major roadway upgrade next week with the official opening of its first roundabout.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation, city officials, and community leaders will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Batesville Community Center’s southeast parking lot to celebrate the completion of improvements to Myers Street.
The project widened a half-mile stretch of Myers Street and added a roundabout at the intersection of Myers Street, 20th Street, and Pioneer Drive. Officials say the changes are designed to improve traffic flow and safety in one of Batesville’s busiest areas.
Funding for the work came from a combination of state aid and city funds. White River Materials, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the $2.9 million contract in May 2025.
