A Missouri man wanted on a federal warrant was arrested Wednesday in Sharp County after authorities said he failed to register as a sex offender in two states.
The Sharp County Sheriff’s Office said deputies assisted the U.S. Marshals Service in locating Michael Williams, 54, at a home in Ozark Acres. Williams was wanted in Missouri for failing to register as a sex offender and is listed by the National Crime Information Center as a sexually violent predator.
Sheriff’s officials said Williams also failed to register in Arkansas. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to a federal holding facility.
