The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the grand opening of Straws Soda with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially welcoming the new soda shop to both the chamber and the Batesville community. Straws Soda is a drink shop where guests can enjoy handcrafted sodas made with flavors and customizable mix-ins.
Co-owner Wendi Nappi shared her family’s enthusiasm for opening in Batesville. “We’re so excited to open a small business here in this community that already means so much to us. Beyond creating a fun place to grab a drink, we wanted Straws to be a great working environment where young people can learn about responsibility, customer service, and the value of hard work. It’s important to us that Straws is more than just a business — it’s a place that helps shape the next generation.”
Wendi also highlighted the broader impact of local entrepreneurship. “Small businesses are the heartbeat of rural communities. They bring people together, create opportunities, and add character to our towns. We’re honored to be part of that story here in Batesville.”
According to Straws’ social media, the business is built on rural roots — the kind that grow deep, stay strong, and remind you where you come from. “We created Straws to be part of your routines, your celebrations, your weekend drives, and late-night cravings. Whether you’re a regular or just passing through, when you stop at Straws, you’re home,” said co-owner Wesley Nappi.
Straws is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is located at 3000 Jennings Lane in Pioneer Plaza in Batesville. More information is available at the business website or by calling 801-285-0394.
