A new restaurant has joined the downtown Batesville dining scene.

The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed The Board on 3rd as its newest member during a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony that drew local business leaders and community supporters.

The event highlighted the role of eateries in the continued revitalization of the city’s historic core.

“Vibrant restaurants play a vital role in the growth and economic development of small downtowns,” said BACC Chief Operating Officer Novella Humphrey. “They not only draw residents and visitors into the heart of the community but also create foot traffic that benefits surrounding shops and services. A lively dining scene fosters a sense of place, encourages longer visits, supports local jobs, and contributes to a thriving local economy — making restaurants essential anchors in the revitalization and sustainability of downtown districts.”

Board on 3rd co-owner Grace Hawkins said she and her team wanted to bring something fresh to the area. “We are thrilled to bring a fusion-style restaurant to downtown Batesville. We love our community like family and wanted to bring something new and fun for all types of people to enjoy,” she said. “The vibe of downtown is so unique, and that’s exactly what we want to present at the restaurant — a unique vibe where patrons can experience great food in a cool atmosphere.”

Located at 156 S. Third Street, The Board on 3rd offers dine-in and outdoor seating with a menu featuring tacos, salads, burgers, desserts, and more.

Hours are Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
