An elderly woman has died from injuries sustained after she crashed her vehicle into the garden center of the Batesville Walmart last week, according to Region 8 News.
Cpl. Stephen Schlotzhauer with the Batesville Police Department said the crash happened around 1:19 p.m. Oct. 3. Investigators said the woman was driving near the store when she hit a curb and swerved to avoid a parked vehicle.
Police said she accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing her vehicle to crash into the garden center.
The woman died from her injuries, said Region 8 News. Her name has not been released, and police said the investigation remains ongoing.
