A Batesville man has been arrested after police say he left his young child home alone, leading to a potentially dangerous situation on 22nd Street.
Authorities said Justin Robertson, 29, faces a felony charge of endangering the welfare of a minor.
According to investigators, off-duty Batesville Police Corporal Miguel Romero spotted a naked child, estimated to be about 3 or 4 years old, walking in the roadway on the morning of Oct. 6. Romero narrowly prevented the child from being struck by a vehicle.
Police determined the boy’s father had left home to pick up breakfast at a nearby café, believing the child was still asleep.
Robertson was arrested on Oct. 11 and released later that day on $15,000 bond.
