Southside Charter High School student Kaylea Stevens will take the national stage this Thanksgiving as one of more than 800 cheerleaders and dancers from across the country performing at the Varsity Spirit Thanksgiving Tour at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Stevens earned the opportunity after being named an All-American during a Varsity Spirit summer camp, a distinction awarded to the top 15% of participants nationwide based on exceptional cheer or dance skills. All-Americans are selected through camps hosted by the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), Universal Dance Association (UDA), National Cheerleaders Association (NCA), National Dance Alliance (NDA), or Urban Cheerleading Experience (UCE).
As part of the Varsity Spirit All-American team, Stevens will perform in a special holiday parade through Disney’s Magic Kingdom® Park during Thanksgiving week. The event gives student athletes from across the nation a chance to connect, showcase their talent, and celebrate the season at one of the world’s most iconic destinations.
“Being named an All-American is an incredible honor,” Stevens said. “I’ve worked so hard for this moment, and I’m just grateful to represent my team, my school, and everyone who’s supported me along the way. I’m most looking forward to competing with the best of the best and continuing to grow as an athlete and person.”
