Arkansas State University System President Brendan Kelly said he expects to present recommendations for new chancellors at Arkansas State University-Newport and Arkansas State University Mid-South to the system’s board of trustees within four months, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported on Sunday.

Kelly is forming search advisory committees this week, with public postings for the positions expected next week. Advertising will continue for six to eight weeks, with finalist selections planned by the end of February.

The Newport campus has been led by interim Chancellor Ike Wheeler since August, following Dr. Johnny Moore’s departure to lead Rust College in Mississippi. Kelly said the next ASU-Newport leader must be able to oversee multiple campuses and engage with communities across the region.

The ASU System has retained Myers McRae Executive Search and Consulting to assist with the searches.
