Cedar Ridge capped a historic football season Thursday night by winning its first AAA 8-man state championship, defeating Woodlawn 74–38 at War Memorial Stadium.
The Timberwolves secured the title on a frigid night in Little Rock, where temperatures hovered in the low 30s and the game stretched late. The victory follows a dominant playoff run that included a first-round win over Dermott on Nov. 14.
Cedar Ridge entered the postseason after clinching its first conference title in school history with a 62–26 win over Rector on Halloween night. That momentum carried through the championship matchup, where the Timberwolves overpowered the Bears from start to finish.
The state final marked the conclusion of a breakout year for Cedar Ridge, which had never won — an 8-man state championship.
