Izard County deputies seek tips after string of vehicle thefts, break-ins

Authorities in Izard County are investigating a string of vehicle break-ins and vehicle thefts reported over the past several weeks in the Horseshoe Bend area, including the theft of firearms and multiple vehicles.

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a report of a vehicle break-in during the early morning hours of Dec. 14, 2025, at a residence on Scenic Acres Drive in Horseshoe Bend. A Marlin 30-30 rifle was taken from the vehicle.

Later that same morning, deputies received another report of break-ins involving two vehicles at a residence on Park Court, where money was stolen, the sheriff’s office said.

In the early morning hours of Dec. 30, 2025, deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Bend Circle. The vehicle was located several hours later near the Forty-Four community.

Most recently, during the early morning hours of Jan. 3, 2026, deputies received a report of two stolen vehicles from a residence on Ridge Circle in Horseshoe Bend. One vehicle was recovered nearby, and the second was later found near Gorby, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the incidents or possible suspects to contact the agency at 870-368-4203 or submit a tip through the contact tab on its website.
