White River Health is offering two free Medicare education sessions this month for residents who want to better understand their coverage options as they reach eligibility age.
The events, led by a locally licensed insurance agent, aim to explain Medicare Parts A through D, how supplemental Medigap plans work, and differences between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans. Organizers say attendees will also learn about common mistakes that may trigger unexpected expenses, how Medicare interacts with hospitals and doctors, and key enrollment timelines.
Materials will be provided, and representatives emphasize the program carries no cost, no obligation and no sales activity. Attendance is voluntary, and no enrollments or plan comparisons will take place.
Sessions will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, and Friday, Jan. 23, at the Josephine Raye Rogers Center on the campus of White River Medical Center, 1710 Harrison Street in Batesville.
White River Health recommends the program for individuals turning 65, current beneficiaries, caregivers and those exploring Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage coverage.
