The forecast of inclement weather is prompting Lyon College to close its Batesville campus and reschedule several events over the coming days.
The college announced that classes and all student activities will be canceled starting at noon Friday, Jan. 23. A decision on whether classes will be held Monday, Jan. 26, is expected to be announced Sunday afternoon.
Several campus events have also been rescheduled. Burns Night, originally planned for Saturday, Jan. 24, has been moved to Saturday, Feb. 21. The Nursing Clinical Skills Expo, scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, will now take place Monday, Feb. 2.
Lyon College’s Scots men’s and women’s basketball games, originally set for Saturday, Jan. 24, at Webster University in St. Louis, have been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Webster University.
While the campus is closed, essential services will remain in operation. Dining Services, Campus Security, and Facilities will continue to operate during the closure.
Patterson Dining Hall in Edwards Commons will serve brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. The Lyon Den in Edwards Commons and the Salty Dog coffeehouse will be closed.
