Two juveniles have been charged with dozens of offenses following a months-long investigation into thefts and burglaries in Horseshoe Bend, according to the Izard County Sheriff’s Office.
The juveniles were charged in Izard County Circuit Court, Juvenile Division, with a combined total of 49 offenses tied to vehicle thefts, vehicle burglaries, and other thefts reported in the city since July 2025. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges against other individuals could be filed.
Sheriff Charley Melton said the crimes have caused concern in the community and praised investigators for their work in bringing the case forward.
“The recent vehicle thefts, vehicle burglaries, and other thefts in Horseshoe Bend over the past several months have been troubling,” Melton said in a statement. “I am proud of my staff for their continued dedication and hard work to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”
Melton highlighted the efforts of Investigator Sean Tomlinson, who he said spent extensive time piecing together the cases despite limited evidence in some instances.
Some investigations involved little physical evidence, while others relied on video footage in which suspects’ identities were obscured, Melton said. He added that the public is often unaware of the level of work required to solve cases because law enforcement must limit the information it can release while investigations are ongoing.
