The Batesville Area Arts Council will hold a grand opening Friday for its newly expanded and renovated Work/Shop on Main, located in the heart of the city’s historic downtown.
The public event is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. on April 25. A private preview reception for sponsors and BAAC members will begin at 5 p.m.
The expansion project includes a new gift shop, a larger workshop area, and a Community Gallery that will highlight work by local artists. The gallery’s first exhibition is sponsored by First Community Bank.
“We are so excited to share this new chapter with our supporters and the community,” said Carly Dahl, executive director of the Batesville Area Arts Council. “This renovation was made possible through the generosity of our sponsors and community investors, and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.”
Guests will have the opportunity to tour the updated space, view the gallery exhibition, and shop for locally made gifts.
Sponsors and community partners who contributed to the project include First Community Bank, Batesville Preservation Association, Citizens Bank, Lyon College, White River Health, Bad Boy Mowers, FARCO, Precise, Bob Carius, Ray and Diane LaCroix, Abby and Zach Perrine, and Racheal and Alex Roofe.
