The Batesville School District has hired Hayden Childers (pictured) as its new strength and conditioning coach for Batesville Athletics.
A 2019 graduate of Batesville High School, Childers returns to the program he once represented as a student-athlete. He attended Batesville schools from seventh through 12th grade and earned all-conference honors in football and baseball.
After graduation, Childers attended Ouachita Baptist University, where he played baseball, served as a two-year team captain, and earned a degree in kinesiology and education in 2023.
“Kinesiology plays a huge part in preparing me for this job, not just knowing the structure of the body, but also understanding how to help prevent injuries in and out of the weight room,” Childers said.
Childers said he is eager to make a difference for the next generation of student-athletes.
“I’m thankful that I get to come back to a community and athletic program that I grew up in and that I think so highly of,” he said. “I’m excited to work with the best of athletes here at Batesville and to work as hard as I can to help those athletes succeed.”
Superintendent Dr. Ken James praised the hire.
“Hayden is an excellent addition to our team,” James said. “His educational background, athletic experience, and deep connection to our community make him the ideal person to help grow our athletic program. His commitment to injury prevention, performance development, and supporting our student-athletes is exactly what we need to take the next step forward.”
