Citizens Bank, Batesville Schools honor Gary Petzoldt for going ‘Above & Beyond’

Gary Petzoldt, environmental services employee at Batesville Preschool, was named Monday to receive the May “Citizens Bank Above & Beyond Award.”

In a release, Citizens Bank said Petzoldt works to keep Batesville Preschool clean for its staff and students with a constant smile and helpful spirit.

His colleagues noted his dedication:

• “Gary does exceptionally good work at keeping our preschool clean. He also is very friendly with the staff, parents, and the children love him. He has a smiling face that I love to see every day!”
• “He is so kind to everyone. He does anything you ask him to do, and our hall is always to clean and neat because of him!”
• “Mr. Gary is always friendly to staff and the children and has a smile even when mopping up our messes.”
• “He is the absolute best and goes above and beyond every day to keep our school spotless.”
• “Mr. Gary is always so sweet and willing to do anything to help. He always has a positive attitude and a smile on his face.”
• “Mr. Gary always goes above and beyond his job title. He always has a positive outlook and a huge smile on his face. He loves the children and is so friendly with the families.”

Since 2012, Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District have recognized staff members who go “above and beyond” to realize the district’s mission to empower today’s students for tomorrow’s challenges. Staff in all schools and departments throughout the district nominate award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Batesville School Board meeting each month.
