Drivers in Batesville should prepare for a detour this summer as a portion of Myers Street is scheduled to close for construction beginning Monday, June 9.
The closure, part of the city’s Myers Street Improvement Project, is expected to remain in effect through Aug. 12.
The affected area stretches from Sydney Street to the intersection of Myers and 20th Street. The three-way intersection of Myers Street, 20th Street and Pioneer Drive will also be closed during the project.
The improvements are intended to enhance traffic flow and safety along one of the city’s key corridors.
City officials are urging motorists to use alternate routes and plan for delays during the closure.
