Political announcement
Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Members of Our Community, I am honored to officially announce my candidacy for reelection as your Sheriff.
Serving as your Sheriff has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Over the past 8 years, I’ve worked every day to uphold the values of justice, integrity, and public safety. Together, we have made significant strides in strengthening community policing, enhancing transparency, reducing crime, and building trust between law enforcement and the people we serve. But our work is not done.
With your support, I’m seeking another term to continue what we’ve started—to build safer neighborhoods, invest in training and resources for our deputies, and ensure every resident feels protected, heard, and respected.
This community is my home, and its future is my priority. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, and I’m excited for the opportunities ahead. I humbly ask for your vote and your continued trust as we move forward together. I can promise you, I will continue to be a True Working Sheriff!
Thank you for standing with me. Let’s keep working to make our county a safe, strong, and united place for all.
With gratitude,
Shawn Stephens
Sheriff, Independence County
Candidate for Reelection
