Firefighters in Batesville battled an early morning house fire Monday that left a Porter Street home heavily damaged but caused no injuries.
The Batesville Fire Department said crews were dispatched at 3:15 a.m. after flames were reported venting through the front door and a window. Firefighters made what officials described as a “quick and aggressive” knockdown before moving through the house to search for anyone inside.
No occupants were found, and no injuries were reported. Crews remained on the scene until 5:08 a.m.
The cause of the blaze has not been released.
