Authorities have recovered the body of a Baxter County man who disappeared after entering Lake Norfork earlier this week.
The body of 49-year-old Glenn Bradley was found Wednesday morning in the Float Creek area, about 30 yards from shore, according to Sheriff John F. Montgomery.
Bradley had gone missing late Monday after leaving a disabled boat to try to swim to shore near Point 5A, Montgomery said. Another person who was with him remained on the boat and later reported him missing.
Deputies and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers launched a search by boat and helicopter on Tuesday but were unable to find Bradley. On Wednesday, around 8:10 a.m., a citizen spotted a body in the water and alerted authorities.
The Baxter County Coroner’s Office took custody of the remains, which will be sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
