A 51-year-old Hardy man has been charged with three counts of terroristic threatening and three counts of aggravated assault, all Class D felonies, according to court documents filed in Sharp County Circuit Court.
Daniel Lewis Collins was charged following two separate incidents involving property disputes with neighbors on Firetower Road, according to an arrest affidavit filed by Lt. Bryce Trivitt of the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office.
The first incident occurred on Sept. 6 when Collins allegedly confronted property owners and a family member while they were cleaning a fence line. According to the affidavit, Collins claimed ownership of the property and, during a heated argument, returned to his vehicle, placed a gun on his hip, and made eye contact with one of the property owners in what appeared to be an intimidating manner.
The second incident occurred on Sept. 15 when Collins allegedly made death threats against the same neighbors while at a shop on Firetower Road, according to witness statements.
According to Sharp County Jail booking information, Collins remains in custody on a $100,000 bond after being arrested on Sept. 16.
Class D felonies in Arkansas carry a potential sentence of up to six years in prison and fines up to $10,000.
