Authorities are searching for a White County man who fled on foot after a police pursuit that ended in Independence County.
According to the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, Arkansas State Police began a vehicle pursuit early Sunday that continued into Independence County. Deputies joined the chase, which ended when the driver ran from the scene.
Law enforcement officers searched the area for several hours, with tracking dogs from the Newport and Calico Rock prisons brought in to assist. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Shawn W. Crowe of White County, was not located.
Officials said Crowe is not believed to be armed, but residents are advised to lock their doors and remain aware of their surroundings. The Arkansas State Police is continuing the investigation.
