State police said the Cessna 210B went down south of Highway 306 after air traffic controllers in Memphis lost contact with the aircraft around 3:15 p.m. The plane had been traveling from New Orleans to Jonesboro.
After a coordinated search involving Arkansas Game and Fish personnel and local fire departments, the wreckage was found around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Highways 75 and 306, west of Midway.
Authorities identified the victims as pilot Bob Clark Bolton Jr., 59, of Heber Springs, and passengers Stanley Mitchell, 52, and Michael Montgomery, 56, both of Jonesboro.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash.
