A 64-year-old Independence County man is behind bars after investigators say he twice sold crystal meth to an undercover informant during a Drug Task Force sting operation.
According to an affidavit filed by the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, Robert Michael Rogers of Oil Trough, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of delivering a Schedule II controlled substance, each a Class B felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
Investigators said a confidential informant met Rogers at a prearranged location. The informant, monitored by agents and equipped with hidden recording gear, allegedly bought more than two grams of crystal meth on two occasions.
The transactions were recorded on audio and video, and the methamphetamine field-tested positive, according to the affidavit. The evidence was secured and will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for analysis.
Rogers was arrested Nov. 4 and is being held at the Independence County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
