The Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches raised a record $350,000 at its 30th annual Arkansas Children’s Award Dinner on Wednesday, celebrating three decades of supporting children who call the Batesville-based ranch home.

More than 600 supporters attended the event at the Little Rock Marriott Grand Ballroom, which featured a reception, dinner, auctions, and the presentation of the Arkansas Children’s Award. Business leader and philanthropist Rush Harding, a Clarendon native, was honored for his longtime generosity and leadership benefiting Arkansas children.

Former Razorback David Bazzel served as master of ceremonies. Cache Restaurant was the presenting sponsor, with Rush Hal Development, the Schueck Family Foundation, and Stone Ward as diamond sponsors.

A highlight of the evening came when Meira, a ninth-grade resident of the ranch, shared how the program helped her rebuild her life and pursue her dream of attending the University of Central Arkansas. Inspired by her story, Harding — a UCA alumnus — announced he would fund her college tuition, fees, and housing.

“For three decades, this event has highlighted the power of Arkansans who step up for children in need,” said Nancy Fulton, CEO of the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches.

The nonprofit is fully supported by private donations and provides shelter, education, and care for children in need. More information is available at YouthRanches.com.
