Local farmers, bakers, and artisans are gearing up for the Main Street Batesville Downtown Farmers Market’s seasonal opening this Saturday, April 18.

Market manager Kati Pasosnik shared details of the upcoming season during a recent interview with Chad Whiteaker of White River Now. The market, located in the parking area adjacent to Maxfield Park on Main Street, will host over 22 vendors offering a diverse range of locally produced items. “We have lots of freshly harvested produce, baked goods, farm-fresh eggs, plants… everything handmade, homemade, and homegrown,” Pasosnik said.

Beyond standard produce, Pasosnik highlighted specialty items such as canned goods, unique jams and jellies, and the market’s “well-loved” salsa.

The market is scheduled to run every Saturday through the end of October. Pasosnik emphasized that the event typically operates rain or shine, noting that vendors like sourdough bakers invest days of preparation leading up to market day. In the event of rain, the market may transition to a drive-thru format to allow customers to shop from their vehicles.

While the roster is growing, the market is still accepting applications for the current season.

“We still accept vendors as long as we have room in the parking lot,” Pasosnik said. Interested parties must complete a registration form found on the “Main Street Batesville Downtown Farmers Market” Facebook page. Pasosnik noted that all applicants are vetted to ensure all goods are homegrown or handmade, as reselling is strictly prohibited.
